In addition to my freelance, I am teaching animation at Grant Middle School in Redding California . With a tablet app, the kids use the principles of animation as taught by Disney animators to create animations of their own. Then using those new skills the students work to develop a short film together and function as a studio. It is a great chance for the kids to learn teamwork, work on a schedule, storyboard, learn how to tell a story and use creative problem solving. It is really exciting to work with them!

I am also currently working to get my art teaching credential. I have taught summer drawing camps out of my house and for homeschool groups for the past five years. It is a week long class where the kids focus on gesture drawing and principles of art to enhance the expression of their characters. As an animation graduate, I love to emphasize original character design as well as give pointers for drawing comics. I also love that it give the kids the chance to meet others that share their passion as well as develop confidence and skills as artists. I'm available to teach in both ways and am open to new job experiences teaching animation and art!
