In addition to my freelance, I am teaching animation at Grant Middle School in Redding California . With a tablet app, the kids use the principles of animation to create animations of their own. Then using those new skills the students work to develop a short film together and function as a studio. It is a great chance for the kids to learn teamwork, work on a schedule, storyboard, learn how to tell a story and use creative problem solving. It is really exciting to work with them!

I am also currently working to get my art teaching credential. I have taught summer drawing camps out of my house and for homeschool groups for the past five years. It is a week long class where the kids focus on gesture drawing and principles of art to enhance the expression of their characters. As an animation graduate, I love to emphasize original character design as well as give pointers for drawing comics. I also love that it give the kids the chance to meet others that share their passion as well as develop confidence and skills as artists.
